MASON CITY, IA – Well the rain last night gave many of us a bit of a scare, especially with the Up in Smoke BBQ Bash going on throughout the weekend.
But come morning, the day was looking as beautiful as ever.
Earlier today, the teams at the BBQ Bash in East Park were busy getting things prepped for the fierce competition ahead.
In past years, the bash has seen nothing but sunshine and sweltering heat, but today’s temps remained mild.
One BBQ team says the day couldn’t have been any nicer.
River City Bad to the Bone BBQ Team Member, Pat Lenning said, “The weather is great, in fact it’s almost just like the very first year we were here, it’s actually got down to 39 degrees when everyone was here overnight and in fact people were using their smoking wood to keep warm.”
Pat adds the ideal temps for cooking the best BBQ is 70 degree’s with a slight breeze.
