FOREST CITY, IA – A drum corps group traveled all the way from Taiwan to compete in The Music Man Festival of Brass in Mason City on Tuesday night.
The group has 56 members and has three different sections to their performance; color guard, brass, and percussion.
Paradox Chen, the Director and Program Coordinator for the group talked about the lengthy process it took to get them to Forest City and after the amount of travel they went through, they are hoping to take home another title.
“It’s been a really long way to get here,” Chen said. “20 hours flight and when we reached it, the airport… we took like 5 hours by bus to our first housing.”
The competition is Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Mason City High School on Mohawk Field and it will feature 10 teams all competing to win the championship title.
