MASON CITY, IA – a group of north Iowa Girl Scouts are getting some recognition for helping out in the community.
Girls in Troop 20028 have been gathering different necessary items for the crisis intervention center in Mason City.
The girls have bought some of the items with the cookie money they earned this year.
Two of the girls scouts we talked to today say it makes them feel good to be contributing to those in need.
“I think it feels good because we’re doing something else for the community and the people in need so it’s a good cause,” says Olivia and Ashton, who are both Junior Girl Scouts.
The troop will be receiving a bronze award for their efforts in the community.
