MASON CITY, IA – While there is still a lot of work ahead; Wednesday night marked the start of the building process for a family.
They’re part of the Habitat for Humanity North Central Iowa Program.
It is sold to the partner family without a profit and with no interest.
The family does have to help with the building process.
For Amber Ferry and her two daughters, the news that they would be a partner family was shocking.
“My first reaction was just to burst into tears because it was a very emotional feeling. It was something we’ve been dreaming and finally our dream is becoming a reality,” said Ferry.
Ferry says she’s very excited that the home will be handicap accessible for her daughter.
It should be finished by Christmas.
