KIMT NEWS 3 – An upcoming event is giving families the chance to hunt for some treasure and win tickets for an important fundraising effort.
The Pirate Festival in Clear Lake doesn’t kick off till next weekend, but tomorrow the same group will be hosting a treasure hunt to get the party started.
Various prizes will be hidden in the sand at P.M Park for kids and young adults to dig up.
One of the biggest prizes up for grabs includes tickets to Pirate Fest, which raises money for a cause that often goes unnoticed.
Event Organizer, Greg Schmidt said, “I think we should have fun with the serious element of the event which is a fundraiser for our charity in North Iowa, Quarters for Quarters, which collects coins and donations for children’s lodging needs and emergency lodging for single moms.”
The hunt will be going on from 1:00 – 5:00 tomorrow.
