DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley says he will travel to Israel next week as part of a 37-member Congressional delegation as peace talks between Israeli and Palestinian leaders resume after a three-year hiatus.
Braley will participate in meetings, briefings, and discussions with Israeli and Palestinian leaders, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
He says it’s an appropriate time to see with his own eyes the dynamics at play in creating Middle East peace, security challenges in Syria and Iran, and other issues.
The trip is sponsored by the nonprofit American Israel Education Foundation. Due to security considerations, a detailed itinerary will be not published prior to the trip.
