Police: 2 dead after being hit by train in Iowa

OSCEOLA, Iowa (AP) — Two men are dead after being hit by a train in southern Iowa.

Osceola Police Chief Marty Duffus tells Des Moines television station KCCI (http://bit.ly/1ej2Hks) that officials are looking into why the men were on the tracks in a residential area of Osceola early Saturday morning.

Duffus says the engineer of the BNSF train called 911 around 5 a.m. Saturday to report that the train had hit someone.

Officials are not yet releasing the names or ages of the two men killed.
