Police: IA suspect sent victim threatening letter

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — Police say a Davenport man being held on kidnapping and rape charges is now facing another charge after having his father hand-deliver a threatening letter to his victim.

The Quad-City Times reports (http://bit.ly/11D3hHb) that 29-year-old Nathan Ronnau has had a charge of first-degree harassment added to first-degree kidnapping and second-degree sexual abuse.

Ronnau is accused of choking his ex-girlfriend until she lost consciousness, dragging her down a Davenport street and raping her in the early morning hours of July 1.

Police say that on July 27, the woman’s daughter found a letter taped to their apartment door from Ronnau threatening the woman. Police say Ronnau’s father delivered the letter without knowing its contents.

Ronnau is being held in Scott County Jail on $1 million bond.
