Iowa GOP chair supports pulling Clinton programs

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa GOP Chairman A.J. Spiker says he supports the Republican National Committee effort to get NBC and CNN to cancel shows on Hillary Rodham Clinton.

In a statement Monday, Spiker says he backs RNC Chairman Reince Priebus (ryns PREE’-bus), who has vowed not to partner with the networks on GOP debates if they don’t pull the programs. Spiker says he also won’t let the networks partner with the party on Iowa caucus debates unless they change their plans.

Clinton hasn’t announced whether she’ll run for president in 2016.

CNN Films is planning a feature-length film on Clinton next year.

NBC has announced a miniseries titled “Hillary,” starring Diane Lane. It’s expected to be released before the 2016 election.

NBC Entertainment declined comment on the RNC request. CNN didn’t immediately comment.
