KIMT NEWS 3 – It’s hard to believe, but it’s almost time for kids to head back to school and this year a large company is looking to help fund important classroom projects.
U.S. Cellular will donate $500,000 to teachers through the Calling All Teachers campaign.
The program invites Iowa public educators to submit their projects to the donorschoose.org website to fund their ideas.
U.S. Cellular representatives say the campaign is a great way for them to get involved with the community and the range of projects up for funding is endless.
U.S Cellular Sales Manager, John Swinton said, “Things like reading rugs, school planning kits, science projects, art supplies. These kinds of thing can be funded and teachers just need to go on and register by September 16th at donorschoose.org.”
This same campaign was held back in 2009 and 2010, the program donated more than $2.1 million to classrooms.
