Iowa authorities arrest 2 people in church robbery

MARENGO, Iowa (AP) — Authorities in eastern Iowa have arrested two people in connection with a robbery at a church.

The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office says 42-year-old Robby Lynn Jones, of Newton, and 38-year-old Rana Carol Frisch, also of Newton, were arrested Wednesday.

Police say Jones and Frisch entered St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marengo and robbed a church employee. Iowa State Patrol later stopped Jones and Frisch inside a vehicle that matched the description of the car believed to be involved in the Wednesday robbery.

Additional information about the robbery has not been released. Both Jones and Frisch have been charged with second-degree robbery. Court records do not list attorneys.
