Iowa man killed after motorcycle hits deer

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — A Muscatine man has been killed after his motorcycle drove head-on into a deer.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office says the man was driving the motorcycle Wednesday morning in the western part of the county when he hit the deer.

The man, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from his motorcycle before landing in a ditch more than 90 feet away. He was pronounced dead at a Davenport hospital.

Officials have not released the man’s name pending family notification. It’s unclear what happened to the deer.
