MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) — A 37-year-old man has pleaded not guilty in the 1994 slaying of a Mason City toddler.
The Mason City Globe Gazette says (http://bit.ly/192RyDT ) Michael Cisneros, formerly of Mason City, made the plea in a written arraignment. Cisneros is accused of killing 20-month-old John Joseph Snyder Jr. His father reported him missing on July 20, 1994. The little boy’s body was found a day later, snagged on a tree in nearby Willow Creek.
Authorities say they’ve matched Cisneros’ DNA to a sample taken from the toddler’s pajama bottoms.
No trial date has been set.
