MASON CITY, IOWA – Railroad updates are in full swing in Iowa.
Union Pacific Railroad is working on their railroad infrastructure across the state.
The project is an estimated to cost 8 million dollars to fix the lines between Mason City and Iowa Falls; it is funded by Union Pacific.
More than 50,000 railroad ties will be replace during this project and some road crossings will be resurfaced.
Construction should be done by the end of the year.
