Officials ID Iowa man killed in crash with deer

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a Muscatine man killed after his motorcycle hit a deer.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that 63-year-old Larry Brasch was pronounced dead at a Davenport hospital after the Wednesday morning accident in the western part of the county.

Brasch hit the deer head-on and was ejected from his motorcycle before landing in a ditch more than 90 feet away. Brasch was not wearing a helmet.

Officials say the buck was about 5 feet in length and was dead at the scene.
