FOREST CITY, IOWA – It seems safety is on the minds of many others in the area as well.
Forest City Elementary School is finishing up some construction projects that district leaders say will make the school safer.
New doors were put on all the classrooms, and a new busing system is in place.
It has buses coming in one way, and parents who are dropping off kids, will now enter a different way.
Principal Steve Putz of the school says he’s very happy with the improvements.
“We have 22 rooms without doors in them. With doors they will be much quieter, the learning environment will be much quieter also it will be much safer,” said Putz.
Putz says he listed the new improvements on the school website to for parents to read.
He’s hoping to have all the finishing touches done on the school by August 20th.
