Suspect in stabbing of husband pleads guilty

NEW HAMPTON, IA – A woman accused of stabbing her husband is pleading guilty.

Patsy Fencl, 53, was charged with Attempted Murder after the incident in the couple’s home on December 18th.  Prosecutors say she attacked her husband as he slept.  During court proceedings in April, records show he argued for lesser charges against his wife.

According to court records, Fencl entered a guilty plea on Tuesday.  She admitted guilt to two felony counts of Willful Injury – Causing Bodily Injury.  She was sentenced to five years in prison and $750 in fines for each count.  This sentence was suspended while Fencl served two years of probation on each count.
