Suspect in Wesley shooting enters plea

WESLEY, IA – A north Iowa man has entered a not guilty plea to a charge of attempted murder.

25-year-old Andrew Zeitler is accused of shooting 25-year-old Dustin Kiefer several times during a fight in Wesley on July 21.  He was arrested in Corwith after a manhunt.

Court records show Zeitler entered a written plea of not guilty on Tuesday.  He has a pretrial conference scheduled in Kossuth County District Court on September 10th and a trial scheduled for October 8th.

Kiefer was originally taken to Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa for treatment, but was transferred to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.  He is listed in fair condition.
