MASON CITY, Iowa – A former Mason City man charged in the 1994 murder of a young boy will stand trial in October, if court proceedings continue as scheduled.
Michael Cisneros, 37, entered a plea of not guilty in a written arraignment last week. Now, court records show a trial date is scheduled for October 22, with a pretrial conference set for October 8.
Cisneros is charged with First-Degree Murder in the killing of 20-month-old John Snyder Jr. Authorities say they’ve matched his DNA with that found on the boy’s pajama bottoms when his body was discovered near his father’s apartment on July 21, 1994.
