ROCHESTER, MN — Hundreds will be in Rochester to try some world-class barbecue.
It is the fourth annual Med City BBQ at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds and food vendors are traveling from as far as Kansas City to show off what they can do on the grill.
The event is free to attend, with live music, drinks and more. 100 percent of the proceeds go to help the Rochester Police Athletic/Activities League (PAL) and the Rochester Police Benevolent Association (RPBA).
“We have 51 teams this year and over the course of the last four years we’ve grown every single year. Coming from a beginning from where we had tornadoes and a complete wreckage of storms that came through the area, we still came through,” said event organizer, Jamie Lea Wellik.
The music started at 4:30 p.m. and runs until midnight. If you cannot make it out Friday, they will be out Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information visit their website.
