IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Police say a University of Iowa student who was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication told authorities he had a good reason for being drunk.
Iowa City police say 21-year-old Alexander John Kinzel, of Lake Barrington, Ill., told authorities, “Of course I’m drunk, it’s Thursday night in Iowa City.”
The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports (http://icp-c.com/15XUumP ) witnesses told police that Kinzel had been involved in a fight at a nearby bar. His blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit.
Court records do not list an attorney for Kinzel.
