MARBLE ROCK, IA – The Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion hosted a picnic at the Veterans Memorial Park.

The picnic is one of their main events and fundraisers for the summer and today’s activities were started as a way to help raise money for a scholarship fund for high school seniors in the Rudd and Marble Rock school district.

Cleva Donohue, the historian and treasurer of the organization said, “we use the money from our raffle to send seniors from Rudd, Rockford, and Marble Rock school district to the college of their choice.”

The event was free to the public but people who came to the event had the opportunity to buy raffle tickets and win prizes donated by local companies

All of the proceeds from the raffle and donations made today went to the scholarship fund.
