DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The Iowa Veterans Home is set to receive a federal grant of more than $600,000.
Rep. Bruce Braley announced the funding Tuesday. The grant comes from the Department of Veterans Affairs and will go to renovate the boilers and steam distribution system at the home.
Braley says the money will help the Marshalltown home continue to “provide quality care to our veterans.”
Braley announced a grant of about $530,000 last month for the home to update generators and build a transportation facility.
The home is one of the three largest state-owned facilities in the country and serves over 600 veterans.
