MASON CITY, IA – North Iowans can now sign up for a nationwide study to help fight cancer.
It’s called the Cancer Prevention Study-3 and it’s a research effort put on by the American Cancer Society.
Adults that meet the requirements can sign up to be a part of the study that will help find out what causes cancer and what prevents it.
Wednesday, community leaders met to discuss the process.
“We call them “community champions” and those are those people who are committed to take the word out to their churches to their specific groups to their families their friend, their co-workers and share the message that it’s easy to sign up,” says Liddy Hora with the American Cancer Society.
So far 84 people have signed up to be apart of the landmark study. If you’d like to sign up, follow the link we’ve set up under “Links We Mentioned.”
