DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) — Two eastern Iowa credit unions have announced plans to merge.
Dupaco (doo-PA’-koh) Community Credit Union and Iowa Community Credit Union say they’ll operate under the Dupaco name. Combined, they’ll have more than 80,000 members and 18 branches, including locations in Platteville, Wis., and Galena, Ill.
Dupaco is based in Dubuque; Iowa Community Credit Union is based in Cedar Falls.
Iowa Community said the impending retirement of President/CEO Mark Heth prompted the credit union board to examine the union’s future. The board decided the merger was good for the credit union members and employees.
The merger faces regulatory approval and a vote by Iowa Community Credit Union members.
