CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – They need donations!

That’s the message from the American Red Cross, as they seek volunteers to give up some of their blood.

Red Cross leaders say the decline in donors comes every year, especially around this time, during the summer.

But those in our area say donating is easy and it really does not take too much time away from your day.

Whitney Joachim, a Recruitment Representative for American Red Cross, says if you would like to donate, make sure to set up an appointment with the American Red Cross.

“I would like to think that most people have an hour of their time to donate.  Maybe that’s one TV show they miss or, it is really important and it doesn’t take very long at all,” said Joachim.

The Red Cross they are especially in need of O-negative, B-negative, and A-negative blood at the moment.
