Iowa officials to test partial human skull

AMES, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a partial human skull recently found by an Iowa family will be sent to state officials for further testing.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office says an Ames family found the skull earlier this month in the Skunk River near the Metz Railroad Trestle Bridge.

Des Moines television station KCCI reports (http://bit.ly/14XoOb2 ) officials say the skull is similar to one found last month on a Skunk River sandbar in Ames. Experts believe that skull is more than 200 years old.
