Mason City Police have released the name of the victim in a stabbing incident. 58-year-old Ricky Roby was stabbed late Tuesday night at 1220 10th Street Northwest.
Roby is currently in fair condition at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa.
MASON CITY, Iowa – One person has been arrested in connection to a stabbing in Mason City.
Mason City police say 41-year-old Fred Olson has been arrested for attempted murder and 1st degree burglary. The stabbing happened shortly before 11:00 pm at 1220 10th St NW. Occupants at the residence reported that Olson broke into the home and stabbed one of the individuals inside. When authorities arrived, the suspect was gone and the 58-year-old male victim was transported to the hospital with multiple stab wounds. He’s in stable condition.
Officer’s later located the suspect’s vehicle at 1916 S Grover Ave. Police attempted to make contact with residents inside the home, but when no one answered, police set-up a perimeter and prepared a search warrant. The North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force Special Operations Group was also called to the scene.
After the search and arrest warrants were signed, authorities entered the home just after 5:00 am. Olson and a female occupant were found inside. Olson was arrested; the female was released without charges. Suspected drugs and paraphernalia were also found inside. Officers are still investigating, and further charges could be filed.

The incident happened on 10th Street Northwest on Tuesday night.
Police say the victim has been taken to the hospital. The victims condition is unknown.
Authorities say this is an ongoing investigation.
