VENTURA, Iowa – It’s going to be a hot weekend and you may want to go swimming somewhere.
But you will want to be cautious at a local beach.
McIntosh Woods State Park is seeing high levels of E coli bacteria, according to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
The sample taken was August 21st and showed high levels of E coli.
Tammy Domonoske, McIntosh Woods Park Manager, says people just need to swim with caution.
“Don’t swim if you’re sick. If you do swim just wash off afterwards, shower, don’t ingest the water and things like that,” said Domonoske.
Domonoske says she did post a sign up stating the water at the beach has tested positive, but she says since the test, the E coli numbers have already gone down.
