Woman, 84, found after 48 hours in Minn. woods

CHISHOLM, Minn. (AP) — An 84-year-old woman who got lost while going for a walk in Chisholm this week is recovering after spending more than 48 hours in the woods.

A Duluth News Tribune report (http://bit.ly/14tcSSP ) says Margaret “Peggy” Archuleta endured heat, humidity and a thunderstorm, but ended up with just a few scratches and two mosquito bites.

Scores of searchers helped look for her when the Idaho woman disappeared this week on a 91-degree day. Her family didn’t realize she’d gone for a walk.

When Archuleta realized she was lost she sat down and waited to be found. She found a sheltered area where branches helped protect her from a thunderstorm.

When she was found she was hungry and thirsty but otherwise OK. She said Friday she feels fine now.
