ROCHESTER, MN — It is a new school year for many students, but for those at an area high school, they are kicking things off in a new school building.

Lourde High School opened the doors Tuesday for the new year and school leaders say there will be some changes to get used to, like finding their way around the building, but they are happy to have the brand new facility.

“One of the neat things that happened today was that I had seniors asking where a certain area was, you know, Mr. O’Toole, how do I get here? Where’s this room? How neat is that?” said Principal Joseph O’Toole.

Students were not the only ones with kinks to work out. Faculty had to figure out the new phone system, parking situations and more.
