Lightning strike kills man in Minnesota

STURGEON LAKE, Minn. (AP) — A lightning strike has killed a man in eastern Minnesota.

Pine County sheriff’s officials say first responders were called to an address in Sturgeon Lake Monday night. Fifty-three-year-old Michael McGee of Sturgeon Lake had been hit by lightning and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake where he later died of his injuries.

WDIO-TV (http://bit.ly/14CYTtu ) reports authorities say the victim was standing in a large pool of water near a tree when the man and the tree were struck by a lightning bolt.
