Minn. school to name building after late author

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. (AP) — A Minnesota school will remember the late author Vince Flynn by naming a new building after him.

Flynn helped chair a capital campaign to build the new hall at St. Thomas Academy. Flynn was a graduate and had been a trustee of the school in Mendota Heights.

Headmaster Thomas Mich says Flynn’s enthusiasm for St. Thomas Academy “was contagious.”

The nearly 100,000-square-foot building will be named Vincent J. Flynn Hall. It includes a fine arts center, classrooms, athletic facilities and meeting areas.

Flynn died in June at age 47, more than two years after being diagnosed with prostate cancer. He wrote the Mitch Rapp counterterrorism thriller series.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press (http://bit.ly/15kHZvw ) reports Flynn Hall will be dedicated Oct. 4.
