NIACC Volleyball drops home opener to NECC

MASON CITY – The NIACC volleyball team dropped a 3-0 ICCAC decision to Northeast Community College (Neb.) Wednesday night in the NIACC gym.

Northeast CC improved to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in the ICCAC. NIACC is 4-1 overall and 0-1 in the league.

Sophomore Lexy Nodtvedt (Manly, Ia.) led the Lady Trojans with eight kills and three ace serves.

Also for NIACC, freshman Jessica Balek (Manly, Ia.) had six kills and sophomore Melissa Bisbee (Stacyville, Ia.) had five kills. Freshman setter Carly Ouverson (Fertile, Ia.) had 13 assists and freshman setter Heather Danburg (Mason City, Ia.) had eight assists.

Sophomore Miranda Altman (Algona, Ia.) had 10 digs.

NIACC returns to action Friday at home against the Wartburg College junior varsity. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
