MASON CITY, Iowa – Making a donation to a north Iowa food bank could soon take you to “new heights”.

Great Lakes Airlines is launching their “Flyin’ 4 Food” campaign next month.

During airport hours if you bring a non-perishable food donation to the counter at the Mason City Airport your name will be entered to win a round trip flight to Minneapolis.

The flights will be given away once a week for the entire month of September.

“If you were to purchase a ticket 3 weeks in advance, it’s probably like $130-145 round trip. If you wanted to buy a ticket today to go to Minneapolis it’s around $192, so it’s well worth it.”

You don’t need to be a passenger to bring a donation to the airport.

All donations will go to the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank.
