Cedar Rapids airport gets federal grant

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids will get a $5.2 million federal grant for improvements.

U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley announced the funding Friday. The money is coming from the Federal Aviation Administration and will be used to construct a taxiway and new connections to the terminal ramp at the airport.

Braley says this funding will help improve the safety and capacity of the airport.
