ELLENDALE, Minn. – It’s a statistic that may surprise you. According to the USDA, nearly 11 % of Minnesotans lack the income and resources needed to put food on their tables.
Now, a fundraiser in our area aims to help local families in need. The Harvest Run for Hunger is taking place on September 21st near Ellendale.
All the proceeds are split between four food banks in Steele and Waseca Counties.
“All evidence from people on the food shelf boards say that the need continues to rise,” said Ron Knutson, the Harvest Run for Hunger Director.
