Iowa DOT offers more kiosks for license renewal

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — Iowa officials say visitors to the Cedar Rapids driver’s license station can use kiosks to renew their driver’s license and non-operator’s identification card.

The state Department of Transportation says the web-based device lets visitors use touch screen technology to renew their respective cards. Users can also safely update the attached photo.

It only takes a few minutes to use the kiosks, which were unveiled at the Iowa State Fair in August. Two kiosks have been in service at the Ankeny driver’s license station since Aug. 15.

Transportation officials say they expect to add more kiosks and available services through the machines in 2014.
