Iowan dies after crash during chase by deputy

NORTH ENGLISH, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a motorcyclist has died after a crash during a chase by a sheriff’s deputy in eastern Iowa.

The Iowa State Patrol says the crash occurred just before 2 a.m. Thursday on Iowa Highway 149 near the county line of Iowa and Keokuk counties.

The patrol says an Iowa County deputy tried to stop the motorcycle for speeding, but the driver sped up. The motorcycle went out of control as it rounded a curve and flipped as it entered a ditch.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The patrol identified him as 25-year-old Tucker Morrison, of North English.
