DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa Republican Party officials have written a letter to the state’s Republican Congress members asking them to oppose military action in Syria.
The letter released Friday was also signed by Christian conservatives and some Republican elected officials. It was addressed to Sen. Charles Grassley, U.S. Rep. Tom Latham and U.S. Rep. Steve King.
The letter says that the plans for military action are reckless and that the general public does not support such a move. It asks that the elected officials vote against any military action.
A total of thirty people had initially signed the letter and a website has been set up to gather more signatures.
