KIMT NEWS 3 — Minnesota state officials released a first look at some rates available through MNsure.
That is the new health insurance marketplace that is expected to go live at the beginning of next month and the coverage on those plans will start on New Year’s Day.
Health insurance rates were as low as $91 a month. Five companies are selling a total of 141 plans on the exchange.
Local county leaders are looking at other numbers.
“The real numbers for us were the expansion of medical assistance, which is incorporated with mnsure, and that’s an additional pool of about 1,200 clients that could potentially come walking through our doors,” said Brian Behmann, Director of Freeborn County Human Services.
He said people have been calling them with a lot of questions on which rate is best.
He is referring people to MNsure’s website and phone number, which is 1-855-366-7873.
