DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Organizers behind the future renovation of a century-old urban park near downtown Des Moines are seeking input from the public.
An open house Tuesday aims to give visitors to Water Works Park a chance to see what’s been under wraps for the renovation. It will include a bike tour and a presentation of proposed amenities. Visitors are encouraged to give feedback and suggest ideas.
Des Moines Water Works recently reached a $200,000 goal to fund the park’s master plan. Designers are currently developing it and hope to finalize it by the end of the year. Bill Stowe, CEO and general manager of Des Moines Water Works, says organizers hope to integrate public feedback into the master plan.
Organizers have not released a price tag or official timeline for the renovation.
