AUSTIN, Minn. — Wednesday marked the third and final day of the National Barrow Show and it has all led up to the auctions.
Events have been taking place since Sunday for pig owners all over the U.S. to show off what they have got.
Event leaders say it is a great way for owners to network, but they hope to keep everyone healthy in the midst of some pig sicknesses.
“We have health papers on all the pigs that come here, they have to be checked out with their home veterinarian, make sure that they’re healthy enough to travel here and come to the state and then we caution everybody, going in and out of the barns, make sure you’re washing your hands,” said Amanda Tiedemann, Coordinator for the National Barrow Show.
The show is put on by the National Swine Registry each year in Austin. It will return to the Mower County Fairgrounds next year between September 7 and September 10.
