KIMT News 3 – A woman convicted in 2008 of nearly beating her mother to death with a frying pan is granted a work release.
According to an Iowa Parole Board, Valerie Hasbrouck was granted the request during a hearing last week.
Authorities say the Ventura woman beat her elderly mother with a frying pan in 2007. They charged her with attempted murder. She then was convicted of the crime in 2008.
The Chairman of the Parole Board says Hasbrouck won’t be released to the public. He adds if she completes the program, there is a chance she gets another parole hearing. According to the chairman, that meeting could be for full release.
