2 arrested in Minn. store manager kidnapping

LORETTO, Minn. (AP) — Police say two men are under arrest after following the manager of a Minneapolis Verizon retail store to his western metro home and kidnapping him.

Authorities say a woman called police to report her 37-year-old husband had been abducted at gunpoint from their driveway in Loretto by two men in a red Dodge Charger. Officers used police dogs and a State Patrol helicopter to search for the men Wednesday night.

KMSP-TV reports says when authorities caught up with the suspects, the two men fled on foot, but were later arrested and booked into the Hennepin County jail.

Medina (meh-DYE’-nuh) police say the suspects apparently planned to take the manager’s keys so they could get into the Verizon store and burglarize it.

The victim was not hurt.
