MASON CITY, Iowa – A lawsuit brought up by a Mason City mother against the school district because of bullying is being dismissed.
According to the attorney who represents the Mason City School District, Joel Yunek, the case was dismissed Thursday in Cerro Gordo County Court.
Heather Conti filed the lawsuit on behalf of her 17-year-old daughter and claimed that the school district didn’t do enough to stop students from bullying her daughter.
Yunek says Conti filed two claims and both were dismissed, with the second one being dismissed Thursday.
He adds that it’s “quite unlikely” that Conti will file an appeal.
