ALBERT LEA, Minn. — A southern Minnesota man has been treated and released after a bicycle accident last night.
It happened a little after 9 p.m. East Front Street and Frank Avenue in Albert Lea.
Police and Fire departments responded to the scene.
Eddie Hopper was riding west along Front Street on a side-walk when he crashed into a car waiting to turn right.
With fall on the way, and days getting shorter, law enforcement leaders tell us you need to be aware when driving at night.
“In this case, the car was perfectly in the right of way,” Lt. J.D. Carlson said. “There was no issue that way. Be aware of people being out later on at night in the dark on bicycles.”
Carlson adds when you are out on your bike; make sure to wear all the proper safety equipment.
