WINONA, Minn. (AP) — Winona authorities say foul play is not suspected in a huge fire that devastated an older section of downtown.
The fire damaged several businesses, apartments and a mosque Friday.
The Winona Daily News (http://bit.ly/189zm8d) reports firefighters are putting out the last remnants of the fire.
Winona Fire Chief Curt Bittle and Winona Police Chief Paul Bostrack told a news conference that there is nothing to indicate that any foul play is involved.
The fire department hasn’t determined where the fire started, or what its cause was. The state fire marshal was scheduled to arrive in town Friday to begin investigating.
