Authorities make arrests after chase

CERRO GORDO CO., Iowa – The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office says they’ve arrested two people in connection to an early Tuesday morning chase.

Authorities say they attempted a traffic stop near the intersection of 340th Street and Thrush Avenue just north of Plymouth. When law enforcement approached, the vehicle sped away and a chase lasted several miles into Worth County.

The sheriff’s office says it ended when the driver drove into a ditch and cornfield near Vine Avenue in Worth County. Three people got out of the vehicle, two of them surrendered right away but the driver fled on foot. He was later captured.

The driver, 34-year-old Ryan Minteer of Eldora is facing numerous charges. Also arrested, 23-year-old Chelsea Kerr of Laurel is also charged in the case.

The third person was not charged.
