MASON CITY, Iowa – A new project is in the works that will help move tourists between Mason City and Clear Lake.

The plan is to post common way finding signs from the east city limits of Mason City to the west city limits of Clear Lake along Highway 122.

The goal of the signs is to help tourists navigate between different attractions the two cities have to offer.

“If say somebody was at Music Man Square and was interested in going over to the Surf Ballroom and seeing that, they could follow the signage that would be consistent all along the corridor to locate that,” explains Tom Drzycimski, Cerro Gordo County Administrative Officer.

The coalition in charge of this project must file a letter of intent to the Great Places project by October 1st.

“You just file and state, we’ve got this project in mind here’s what we’d like to do, here’s a group of people that we’ve formed to discuss this and then if they see something they like then they’ll let us know whether to file a formal application,” Dryzcimski adds.
